Day 1       Arrive Uluru (Ayers Rock)

 

                 Take delivery of your self-drive car and proceed to the hotel. 

 

                 Hotel: SAILS IN THE DESERT or OUTBACK PIONEER

 

                 Afternoon at leisure

 

 

 

 Day 2       Uluru (Ayers Rock)     Early morning Uluru Walk

 

Follow the oldest walking track on earth around the base of Ayers Rock on a 9km easy amble. Hear some of the aboriginal creation-time stories associated with the rock and view ancient Aboriginal art. Marvel at the diverse plant life and quietly watch wildlife commence their daily activities.   Examine the tracks of nocturnal animals. Experience the beauty and mystery of Uluru at dawn.  The 5 hours spent on this tour will live long in your memory...

 

                  Afternoon at leisure

 

                  Evening to enjoy the "Sounds of Silence":

 

An awarding winning dinner under the stars. Shortly before sundown, guests are driven to a special site in the desert some seven kilometers from the Resort. As a didgeridoo weaves his magic spell, diners enjoy canapés and witness a spectacular sunset..

 

 

 

Day 3         Uluru (Ayers Rock)   

 

Morning "Valley of the Winds" Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)

 

Proceed by self-drive car under own arrangements, via the look-out point, to the mysterious rock domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Some consider this formation to be even more spectacular than Uluru (Ayers Rock). Arrive at Kata Tjuta and enjoy two magnificent well marked walking trails. The "Valley of the Winds" trail affords spectacular scenery and views of the vast surrounding desert. Back at the Resort there are numerous options to enjoy. There is always the swimming pool. Options include visits to the various information centres, an Aboriginal dance performance, scenic flights or Harley Davidson motorcycle rides.

 

Afternoon and evening at leisure.

 

 

 

Day 4       Uluru (Ayers Rock)/Kings Canyon

 

Depart on an overnight visit to Kings Canyon. This spectacular canyon, with its wonderful walks both through the Canyon and atop its precipices, was the site of the memorable conclusion to the movie "Priscilla Queen of the Desert".

Day 5     Kings Canyon/Uluru (Ayers Rock)       

 

Return to Ayers Rock and surrender the self-drive car at the airport
